The Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux is gearing up for an exhilarating finale on the Dutch North Sea coast!

  • With nine contenders still in the running for the overall title, the battle remains wide open.

  • Expect a thrilling day of action with all sessions and races packed into one day.

Zonhoven, Monday 7 October 2024 – The Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux is entering its final stretch, and after a season filled with high-quality racing and varied winners, the ultimate showdown is set for Wednesday, 9 October. All prizes are still up for grabs as the competition heads to Circuit Zandvoort, where the season began in May 2024. The day’s schedule includes all sessions and races packed into one intense day, culminating in a champions' ceremony just a stone’s throw from the North Sea.

As a reminder, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux features the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup models '991' and '992' and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, with each race day consisting of a free session, two qualifying rounds, and two 30-minute sprint races. Over the years, this rapidly growing competition has attracted numerous drivers and teams, and on 9 October, the 2024 season will crown its champions.

Nine Drivers, four classes, one title race

The tension is sky-high in the general classification, with nine drivers from across four classes – '992', '992 AM', 'GT4', and 'GT4 AM' – still mathematically in contention for the championship.

"This highlights the inclusivity of our competition, offering genuine opportunities for participants across various profiles," says Series Manager Lars Plato. “The final decision on who will be crowned the 2024 champion will be made at Zandvoort!”

Currently leading the standings is Philippe Wils, representing Q1 Trackracing in the final race in the Netherlands. However, with just a three-point lead over his closest rival, G. King (W.D.P. Racing), the title is still very much up for grabs, especially considering the 100 points still available. Other contenders like Menno van de Grijspaarde (Team GP Elite), Niels Troost (Team GP Elite), Lennart Hiemstra (Triple & Crown Racing), and Mees Muller (PG Motorsport) are all within striking distance.

Fierce battles across all classes

In the '992' class, Niels Troost enters as the favorite, holding a 37-point advantage over second-place Michael Cool (Belgium Racing). In the '992 AM' class, things are much tighter, with three drivers – Philippe Wils, Lennart Hiemstra, and Alfred Lenferink (Hans Weijs Motorsport) – all still in the hunt for the title.

Mees Muller, looking to bounce back after a tough outing in the Belgian Ardennes, is aiming for redemption in the 'GT4' class, where he faces strong competition from Dino van der Geest (Team GP Elite).

In the 'GT4 AM' class, it's an exciting duel between G. King and Menno van de Grijspaarde, with just 10 points separating the two. While King leads the victory count at five to three, the Dutchman will be determined to fight for the title on home soil.

Don't miss the action on Wednesday, 9 October, as the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux reaches its conclusion at Circuit Zandvoort!
