Zonhoven, September 10, 2025. The Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux is entering a decisive stretch. Between now and Thursday, October 9, three more events at three different circuits will be held, packing in no fewer than seven races. After Zolder this Thursday, September 11, the championship moves on to Spa-Francorchamps and Circuit Zandvoort, where the season’s champions will finally be crowned. But first, all eyes turn to Midden-Limburg for rounds six and seven.

It will be an intense period for teams and drivers alike in this series, which continues to stand out with its compact, single-day race weekends.

“Our one-day format keeps attracting new entrants,” explains Lars Plato, Series Manager of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux. “At Circuit Zolder, for instance, we welcome two new drivers from Kkrämer Racing. Both will be competing in a Porsche Cayman GT4 CS, taking the total number of Caymans on the grid to seven. Our goal remains clear: offering drivers a professional, yet passionate racing environment where enjoyment and competition go hand in hand.”

This week marks the halfway point of the championship. “We’ve had five races so far at Zandvoort and Assen,” continues Plato. “With Zolder’s two rounds, we’ll be at seven, and then five more remain, two at Spa-Francorchamps and three at Zandvoort. So, there’s still everything to play for!”

The title fight remains wide open

In the overall standings, Dino van der Geest (Team GP Elite) leads with 222 points, ahead of Lennart Hiemstra (MDM Motorsport) on 170. With 350 points still available this season, 50 per race, the battle is far from settled. R. King (WDP Racing) holds third place on 142 points, still well within striking distance.

Next up is Arthur Peters (Selleslagh Racing Team), the current GT4 RS class leader, who also keeps himself in the hunt for the overall crown. Peters sits on 137 points, just ahead of Menno van de Grijspaarde (Team GP Elite, 133 pts) and Mark van Eldik (Hans Weijs Motorsport, 127 pts). Thijn van Berkel (Team GP Elite) holds seventh overall.

The grid at Zolder will also see strong contenders in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992, including Sam Scholten (PG Motorsport) and last year’s champion Philippe Wils (Speedlover).

In the GT4 RS class, Peters is holding a slender eight-point advantage over Menno van de Grijspaarde. Belle Rappange (Team GP Elite) and Marco van der Poel (Team GP Elite) sit third and fourth with 70 and 64 points, closely followed by teammate Caspar Hogeboom.
