TT Circuit Assen, July 10, 2025 – The iconic circuit in Drenthe played host to the second round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, once again following the familiar single-day format packed with intense action. The big winners at Assen were Dino van der Geest, who claimed both the overall and 992 class victories, and Arthur Peters, who triumphed in the GT4RS class. The next round of the championship will take place on September 11 at Circuit Zolder.

Lennart Hiemstra (MDM Motorsport) kicked off Wednesday with the fastest lap in qualifying, placing his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – on pole position ahead of Dino van der Geest and Mark van Eldik (Hans Weijs Motorsport). In the GT4RS class, Arthur Peters delivered a strong performance to secure pole position in his Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, narrowly ahead of German driver Philip Thomas (Team GP Elite).
The qualifying sessions were followed by two thrilling 30-minute races. In the opening race, held shortly after noon, Dino van der Geest surged to victory, edging out polesitter Lennart Hiemstra by just one and a half seconds at the finish. Mark van Eldik completed the podium, followed by Rey King, who showed strong pace and could have finished higher, and Thijn van Berkel (Team GP Elite), who rounded out the top five in the 992 class.

In the GT4RS class, young Belgian talent Arthur Peters claimed the win in a close battle with Philip Thomas, finishing just seven-tenths of a second ahead. “I had a blast,” Thomas grinned in parc fermé. “He was just a bit quicker, but this is what racing is all about!”
Menno van de Grijspaarde (Team GP Elite) took third place in the GT4RS class, with Marco van der Poel (Team GP Elite) in fourth. Unfortunately, Belle Rappange and Casper Hogeboom (both Team GP Elite) were among those struck by bad luck in Race 1.

Repeat success for Van der Geest and Peters
The second race, held under sunny skies, saw another dominant performance from Dino van der Geest, who clinched his second victory of the day:
“I had to fight a bit harder in the first race than in this one, but it still wasn’t easy. The heat in the car made it quite tough. These wins are great for the championship, and I hope to keep this momentum going.”

Lennart Hiemstra again finished in second place, ahead of Rey King, with Thijn van Berkel taking fourth and Sam Scholten (PG Motorsport) securing fifth in the 992 class. Dino van der Geest continues to lead the championship standings, with Hiemstra maintaining second.
In the GT4RS class, Arthur Peters once more went head-to-head with Philip Thomas, this time crossing the line two seconds ahead.
“He really kept me on my toes,” smiled Peters on the podium. “Both races were a lot of fun, and I enjoyed every moment.” With this result, Peters takes over the lead in the championship standings.
Menno van de Grijspaarde again completed the podium in third, followed by Belle Rappange and Marco van der Poel.
